Aalesund and "Troll Road" : Norway

Aalesund and "Troll Road" : Norway

Finally stole some free time to continue to show Norway :) Remember that the trip was a year ago.

In this article we will touch on Alesund, to go along the "Road of trolls" and finish the way to Geiranger Fjord.  Is located in the city of Alesund 7-islands and has a mild climate thanks to the Gulf Stream vicinity.  It is also a major seaport of Norway.

1.  First walk along the promenade. Morning serenity envelops completely, no noise, no wind, no single movement.

2. Town is very simpotichny!  If not for the devastating fire of 1904, he became the embodiment of the then popular Art Nouveau style: bright, imaginative and a little fairy.

3.  According to tradition, I continue to photograph the wells.

4. Encountered streets quite steep.

 5. Queen Mary, which we still show itself in all its glory on the Geiranger Fjord , delicately trying to merge with the city.

6. Knitted fence outside.

7.. Aalesund from the lookout on Mount Axl.  At the top of the mountain are 418 steps.  Difficult ascent rewards fantastic panoramic views of the city.

8. Ålesund - the largest center of the Norwegian fishing industry.

9. Such beauty must tragedy.  The city was completely destroyed by a huge fire in 1904 (all 850 houses were made of wood).

10. Panorama of Ålesund from the lookout.

11. Turrets, spiers, moldings and other architectural details made the city one of the most interesting cities in Norway.

12. We have our way to "Troll Road."

 13. Tricks of Godzilla?

Approach the "Road of the Troll."  Bottom views of the barely visible razlinovku famous serpentine, in which buses are fighting to survive and barely barely climb very tightly disagree with oncoming traffic.

14. Serpentine paint waterfalls, formed from snow fraught, because even in the month of July at the top you can still see the snow and play in the snow.

15. Troll Road or ladder trolley is part of the Norwegian national road RV63, connecting the cities of Andalsnes commune Reumah and Valldal commune Nordahl.  Road during the lift makes 11 sharp turns, and sometimes lifting height is 9%.

16. Stigfossen Falls Bridge.

17. Height of the waterfall is 180 meters, or about 60 stories.

18. In autumn and winter the road is closed for the passage of the trolls. Usually, it opens in the second half of May and closes in October, but due to weather conditions, these dates may shift.

19. Partly road width does not exceed 3.3 meters.  Truckers here just is not the place.  But the road itself at the moment is more a tourist attraction than a bridge.

20. Lookout with a view of the winding road and waterfall Stigfossen trolls.

21. In Norway, the weather is very changeable.  If you noticed, when we climbed the winding roads - the sun was shining.  After a few minutes he sucked all the clouds and drizzle.

22. Unfortunately I can not remember what this place is, but very unusual. This is another waterfall which runs in fractures rocks.  Top and winding road runs zigzag pedestrian and hiking trail from the metal bars are literally stretched over a waterfall.

 23. Strawberries sold on the road in a stall ... I would say that this is not a stall, and just a table with an umbrella.  However, even then you will not fail to pay by card.

24. And this is Geiranger Fjord. Cruise ship «Ocean Princess».

25. How tiny he looks among Norwegian giants, and in fact the length of the liner - 180 meters. Add front of him another 4 and a half of the liner in line and you will see that before the mountains on its current direction - a whole mile.

26. Across the fjord is also an observation deck with a great view, but we did not get it this time.

27. All for today, here and spend the night :)
